I visited the Tatsuya Tanaka exhibition in January 2025. My favorite pieces were definitely the "Motherboard Airport" and the "iPhone Cabin". Besides my love for anything aviation-related, I was really fascinated by the artist's creative process. I wondered how he could combine seemingly unrelated things to create such interesting works. At the exhibition, Tanaka mentioned "disassembling" and "reassembling" during the creative process, starting with shapes. This got me thinking about how shapes connect. For example, the oval shape of an airplane window can also be found in everyday objects like the button on an iPhone. Looking down at an airport from above, the complex lines and blocks are very similar to a computer motherboard. These clever connections made me admire the artist's creativity!
