Airbus has introduced a new variant of the A320 family, the A321 XLR, featuring an innovative QR code directly on the aircraft fuselage. This QR code provides passengers with direct access to a wealth of information regarding the A320 family, including news, events, and exclusive content. The A321 XLR boasts an impressive range of 4,700 nautical miles, enabling near-11-hour flights while maintaining the economic advantages of a single-aisle aircraft. The inaugural A321 XLR was delivered to Iberia Airlines in Spain in 2024 and successfully completed its first transatlantic flight.
The A320 family is Airbus's most successful commercial aircraft program. Production facilities are located in Mobile, Alabama, Toulouse, France, Hamburg, Germany, and Tianjin, China. Hamburg serves as the primary production hub with four final assembly lines, while Toulouse houses two. Both Mobile and Tianjin have one assembly line each, with plans to establish additional lines, bringing the total to ten and significantly increasing production capacity.
