航空聯盟是由多家航空公司共同組成的組織，聯盟中的成員彼此協議與合作。對於航空公司來說，可以降低營運成本並拓展客源，例如共用班號班機、航班接駁、共用機場設備(如機場貴賓室)、機場地勤代理與支援等；對旅客來說，不僅可以選擇的航班，可飛達的目的地變多，由於聯盟中的航空飛行常客計畫都能互通，在累積哩程、兌換獎勵機票上也更有彈性，因此航空聯盟可以說是一個雙贏的局面。
目前，全球有三大航空聯盟：
1. 星空聯盟 Star Alliance
星空聯盟成立於1997年，由美國聯合航空、德國漢莎航空、加拿大航空、北歐航空與泰國國際航空這五家航空公司組成成立。該聯盟的企業識別標誌是一個五角星，象徵創立聯盟的五個創始成員。星空聯盟發展至今是全球最大的航空聯盟，目前擁有26家成員航空公司，覆蓋全球195個航點國家。台灣的長榮航空是星空聯盟會員。
2. 天合聯盟 SkyTeam
天合聯盟成立於2000年，由法國航空、美國達美航空、墨西哥國際航空和大韓航空這四家航空公司組成成立。目前是是全球第二大的航空聯盟，擁有19家成員航空公司，覆蓋全球175個航點國家。台灣的中華航空是天合聯盟會員。
3. 寰宇一家 OneWorld
寰宇一家成立於1999年，是全球第三大的航空聯盟，目前擁有13家成員航空公司，覆蓋全球155個國家航點。

Star Alliance was founded in 1997 by five airlines: United Airlines, Lufthansa, Air Canada, SAS, and Thai Airways. The alliance's corporate identity logo is a five-pointed star, symbolizing the five founding members. Star Alliance is currently the largest airline alliance in the world, with 26 member airlines covering 195 countries. EVA Air is a member of Star Alliance.
2. SkyTeam
SkyTeam was founded in 2000 by four airlines: Air France, Delta Air Lines, Aeromexico, and Korean Air. It is the second-largest airline alliance in the world, with 19 member airlines covering 175 countries. China Airlines is a member of SkyTeam.
